When we lived in New York City, one of our favorite ways to spend a Saturday was to wake up early, grab some coffee, and just walk – anywhere and everywhere!
It was such an incredible way to see the city and spend our day disconnected and outdoors. Most days, we didn’t have any particular destination in mind. We just wandered the streets with an open mind and were able to see and experience so much of New York by foot. From stumbling across a food festival in Little Italy, to spontaneous bike rides across the Williamsburg Bridge, to discovering the #WhatLiftsYou wings, these were some of our favorite days in NYC.
Luckily for those of you who live around the city, two of our favorite companies are joining forces this weekend to bring you Hike Manhattan. This Saturday, Discover Outdoors and WeWork are taking on the trek to hike from the top to the tip of Manhattan – a whole 11.3 miles!
They are taking our love of exploring the city by foot and stepping it up a few notches. Along the way, the Hike Manhattan tour will be stopping by must-see landmarks, grabbing a few beers by the waterfront, and eventually ending at a party at the newest WeWork location.
And if connecting with awesome people, exploring your city in a whole new way, and getting some great exercise at the same time wasn’t enough to convince you, all of the proceeds will benefit Discover Outdoors’ nonprofit. The Discover Outdoors Foundation “introduces students at under-funded schools to the outdoors for experiential learning, team building, skills development and exposure to the great, big world out there.”
Honestly, we can’t think of a better way to explore New York city! If you’re in the area this weekend, check out the event page to join Discover Outdoors & WeWork as they Hike Manhattan.
Don’t miss this historically awesome event to celebrate Great Outdoors Month!
