We have to say, weeks that start off with a holiday are usually pretty good weeks in our books. Hopefully, this weekend allowed everyone to get away, relax, enjoy the last real weekend of summer.
Crazy that it’s already September, right?
Now that summer is winding down, and we’re getting back into the swing of a somewhat-normal routine, it’s the perfect time to reflect and really think about your life.
Fall is a brand new season, and something about the change of weather changes my mindset. It makes me energized and ready to take on new projects, ideas, passions, challenges – you name it!
But as I’ve said before, we can do anything we want to do, but we can’t do everything. We need to be selective and smart with what we take on in our lives. We need to nourish those things that are making us happy and pushing us closer to our ideal selves.
There’s one line in this song (although, I’m pretty sure all of the lyrics of every Mumford & Sons songs are pure genius..) that really speaks to this idea:
One simple sentence says it all. Investing in what you love is investing in your future. Finding the right career, partner, friends, hobbies, city – all of it. Make what you love a bigger part of your life. Throw everything you have at it. Open yourself up and allow yourself to be loved as well. Invest in YOURSELF.
More importantly, love yourself.
As Pete likes to say, we’ve only got one shot, right? So as the new season starts to sneak in and we settle into more of a routine, decide to stop settling in your life. Take a step back. Think about where you are, what’s important to you, and where you want to go.
Where do you need to invest a little more of your love to get there?
